ABOUT US
Our Purpose
At IT Bridge Outreach, we believe that technology should be a bridge, not a barrier. Our purpose is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, background, or economic status, has the opportunity to thrive in the digital age. We work tirelessly to provide the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary for individuals and communities to fully participate in our increasingly digital world.
WHAT WE DO
Understanding the Digital Divide
The digital divide refers to the gap between those who have access to computers and the internet and those who do not. This divide creates significant disparities in access to information, education, job opportunities, and essential services. By addressing this divide, we aim to create a more equitable society where everyone can benefit from the digital revolution.
How it Happens
- Access: Lack of affordable and reliable internet connectivity and devices
- Usage: Underutilization of digital technologies and services
- Skills: Underdeveloped digital literacy and competency
Who it Affects
- Low-income families struggling to afford devices and internet access
- Rural communities with limited broadband infrastructure
- Older adults who lack digital literacy and skillsets to protect themselves
OUR APPROACH
Bridging the Digital Divide
Digital Inclusion
We strive to ensure that all individuals and communities have access to affordable broadband internet, internet-enabled devices, digital literacy training, and quality technical support. Our programs aim to enable self-sufficiency, participation, and collaboration in the digital world.
Digital Equity
We work towards a condition where all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society. This means not just equal access, but equitable opportunities for digital skill development and harnessing technology's transformative potential.
Digital Literacy
Our programs focus on building foundational computer skills to help access, consume, create, and share digital content. Moreover, this includes the capability to protect one's digital identity and privacy, safeguard against online threats, and make informed choices about online security practices.
